Therapy
My psychotherapeutic approach is based on the assumption that everyone has the potential to access and live out their abilities and their dreams. There are many reasons people grow up without proper psychological nurturance and support. Consequently, their inherent potential may become compromised.

These compromises in the form of self protective behaviors are usually earnest attempts at trying to avoid further shame and hurt. For instance, if a student with attention and distractibility problems struggles in school, he may give up on academics to avoid feeling stupid. This often happens to people who are very smart. Avoidance of academics is self protective in that it removes the anticipated threat of humiliation and potential failure. Yet avoidance and other such self protective behavior can impede growth. Psychotherapy can help someone understand and change these protective strategies and propel them along an authentic developmental path.
Individual
Individual psychotherapy is useful for people who are in conflict about the circumstances of their lives or how they are as a person. The process of psychotherapy can help alleviate: self-esteem issues, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, dissociation and other troubling symptoms.
Group
Group therapy is useful for people who feel isolated or who want feedback from others about how they are viewed and experienced by others. It also offers opportunities to learn how to directly express feedback to others and learn how to process others’ responses to the feedback.
Couple
Couples therapy is useful when partners in a relationship are having difficulty communicating and feeling supported and understood by each other. Through learning how to listen to each other empathically, each partner can gain self confidence and feel freer to be themselves and sustain support from the other.
Family
Family therapy is useful when children are having difficulty in school, with peer or adult relationships or with behavior regulation. Seeing children with their parents and other siblings can offer a chance for the family to grow together in understanding and competence to deal effectively with each other in achieving personal and family goals.
Music
Meditation is often enhanced with meditative musical accompaniment. Live meditative cello music is offered with periods of meditation during the therapeutic process.
Performance Anxiety and Enhancement
Performance demands, whether in music, art, athletics or managerial work can bring with it inhibitions, anxiety and other feeling states and beliefs that block effectiveness. Both EMDR and talk therapy techniques can be used to overcome these difficulties and help you execute the best you have to offer your art and/or your work.
